Salute is the next little mix's single. Since it's a 'feminist' anthem and their team has a narrow definition of 'feminism', do you think we will be feed by more trouble-in-paradise-perrie-needs-no-man narrative? On one hand it's already started (that article in heat) but on the other hand, they need zerrie to fill up their US tour. And their so-called anniversary is also coming up.
Well, Little Mix is really not much different than other girl bands in terms of being marketed as feminist - girl bands tend to almost all do that. Nothing wrong with that per se, but yanno, it’s worth understanding that girl bands are marketed as feminist because the (often) men that created them decided that ‘girl power’ feminism would make $$$$$$ (and ‘Salute’ itself (it looks like) was written by 3 men and 1 woman other than Little Mix… so LOL.)
Anyway that’s a bit of a tangent - I haven’t seen the “Perrie needs no man” narrative. Am I missing something? Maybe. But all I’ve seen recently is the “Perrie and Zayn fight over wedding plans” narrative. Here's a post with some article titles and here's an article I just found.
I mean, I think you could be right in the future. Certainly when they break up. And maybe for Salute, who knows! But right now, I mean for instance, in that article I just linked, Perrie actually comes off looking worse than Zayn - she’s presented as the flakey one that keeps changing her mind about where she wants the wedding and how big it’s going to be. (I can’t seem to figure out what Heat article you’re referring to tho.)
And LOL omg I forgot about that! Is their anniversary considered that April Avengers movie date? I guess we’ll find out. Less than two years ago, amazing.
